Chief Executive - Stephen Sharman

"I started working for the Northwich Urban District Council in 1966, straight from school. During my employment I progressed from being Apprentice Gardener to Gardener, then up the ladder again when I was promoted to Supervisor and in 1974 I was made up to Foreman. In 1978 following the retirement of Mr Alan Nichollas I was once again promoted and became the Parks and Cemetery Superintendent and finally in 2002 I was appointed the first ever Chief Executive of the Town Council replacing the Town Clerk when she took early retirement. I have seen many changes during my time at the Town Council but one of the most rewarding was recently achieving the Investment in People Award which proves that the Council is a happy and contented place to work. I have to agree that since the administration office moved from across the road into the new Council offices the 'team' seem to have knitted together even more so. The newly refurbished Council Chamber is also something I am very proud of ". I enjoy the challenge of the Chief Executive’s role and have achieved the CILCA qualification. Also the Council have been awarded Quality Status, which we received in December 2007. I am also proud to announce that the Town Council have been awarded the Investors in People award. I have also completed 43 years continual service with the Northwich Town Council/Urban District Council and the Deputy Town Mayor, Clr Brian Cooke presented me with a banjo and other gifts from the Town Council to commemorate my service.
